Uncle died from lung cancer. Was a rabid marijuana smoker, but never cigs. I thought MJ cured cacner?

I have always read and heard that MJ cures cancer. How could a man, who never smoked anything more than MJ die of lung cancer

Mj doesnt cure cancer… it is used to treat the side effects of pain and nausea from the cancer itself or the treatment.

There are different types of lung cancer, and people who have never smoked get all of them.

Plus, the same chemicals in cig smoke that are linked to cancer are ALSO in marijuana smoke. Marijuana in and of itself may not cause cancer, and may potentially have properties that are useful in other medical situations. But in the smoked form, it DOES carry a risk.

There have been studies to see if there is a correlation between marijuana smoke and lung cancer and copd that says smoking marijuana doesnt cause either. Even though I am pro marijuana, I do question the validity of those studies. If those studies are right, then we need to seriously re evaluate why the same chemicals in marijuana smoke dont show a correlation to cancer while they do in cig smoke, and/or the evidence that those chemicals are what leads to the correlation of cancer and cig smoke. Although, some of the chemicals HAVE been highly correlated with cancer in other contexts, such as benzene. Benzene is one of the chemicals in cig smoke, and puts the smoker at higher risk for at least leukemia. That same correlation has been found in other sources of benzene exposure.
