HPV and Cervical Cancer?

My girlfriend has had a form of cervical cancer caused by a strand of HPV. If we have sex, am I at all at risk of being infected with HPV that causes genital warts, or even the strand of HPV that causes cervical cancer in women?

If she has been treated for the HPV, then no. HPV is curable with antibiotics. Cervical cancer is caused when it doesn’t resolve on its own (most HPV does) and goes untreated for too long. You can’t catch HPV from cervical cancer.

But I would still use a condom to be on the safe side.
